Week of the Young Child (All About Me) - April 7-11

We had a ton of fun this week celebrating children at The Pa-Paw Patch!  Our theme was "Your child will 'soar' thanks to early childhood The Pa-Paw Patch!"  We made a big hot air balloon to put up in our common room and filled its basket with pinwheels.  Every child got to pick a pinwheel as they left today!

On Monday, T.J. from Jubilee Balloons came and made balloon animals for all the kids.  They had fun watching her make all sorts of stuff, trying to guess what it was before she could finish!  All the one- and two-year-olds got a balloon bubblegum machine, and the older children got to choose what they wanted.

Tuesday was Storytelling Day.  Ms. Sara went around to all the classes and read two books, Caps For Sale by Esphyr Slobodkina and The Mine-O-Saur by Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen.  The kids all enjoyed the readings!

Wednesday was Sing-Along Day!  Ms. Sara went to each class and did a few songs from our Kindermusik lesson.  Those were good action songs!  Then, Ms. Robyn came in and sung silly songs with the kids, including a few fingerplays.  What a fun morning!

Thursday was Fun Field Day!  We set up an obstacle course on the big playground and let all the kids go through it.  We also had the sandbox, blocks, bowling, golf, and basketball stations all available for play as well!

Friday was Bouncy House Day!  This was the biggest hit of the week, and a great one to end the week on!  We rented a super cool one from Bing's Jolly Jumpers and left it up all day.  The kids loved it and spent most of the day playing outside!

We are so blessed to be able to take care of all our Patchers and we are thankful for each one of them!  Happy Week of the Young Child, and always remember how important our children are!  We need to treat them as such and show them how very special they are!

  1. It's wonderful to be able to see the fun my daughter is having along with her friends. I can't express how thankful I am for the great care and love my child receives there.
