We love the four-/five-year-olds Christmas Around the World bulletin board! Around the tree, they've written ways to say "Santa Claus" and "Merry Christmas" in other languages. The children honed their fine-motor skills by cutting circles out for ornaments, which are hanging on the tree.
The children in this class also colored pinatas for La Posada and wooden shoes filled with treats for Sinterklaas Day as they talked about Christmas in Mexico and Holland.
The two-year-olds and three-year-olds both enjoyed making "Rudolph in a Blizzard" pictures (a favorite around here!) by dotting chalk on black construction paper and gluing on a small red pompom. What a great way to celebrate that red-nosed reindeer that has to trek all over the world!

Our Christmas sensory tub for the two weeks before Christmas includes garlands, unbreakable ornaments, mini wrapped presents, boxes, ribbons, bows, and a Santa hat. All the children have had a great time playing with it! See all the happy faces below!
The 2's used some of their ornaments from the sensory tub to decorate their tree! |
